Poetry ~ Munia Khan

Her Bunsen Burner

Her boldness makes her blind
And she traces the source
of being in a molten state
to convince her eyesight
only to recognize
the three different types of flames
from the Bunsen burner
in the laboratory of her
experimental life
where the coolest yellowish orange flame
turns into the hottest roaring blaze
forming a blue triangle
in the middle of the fire
by which she has been
warned repeatedly
to stay vigilant
But alas! She never cares
to adjust the flame
And now she is burning
forever into the safest burner
of her own
