Change

Change…thrives and breathes on the wind
and like the fiery autumn leaf
unknowingly let go
it seldom rests in one spot too long.
Change…is ever constant
Through the seasons, the turn of the wheel
like Maritime weather
at the mercy of our great mother

Change… makes room for bigger, better
The cutting away of the old, tired, used
Returning to the Earth, so that a new seed
may sprout and grow from its remnants.

Change…an evolution of spirit
Where bands of eternity wrap
round the ether of the soul
forever searching, never knowing

Change…the mystery of unknown
The adventure of untraveled
The fear of never before
The fuel that drives

Ambition, passion, hatred, love
Growth, sustenance, nourishment
Death, loss, sorrow, pain
Letting go, letting god, letting you.

  1. nice…this is a bit different voice for you tash…change is constant…we can try to fight it but in it resides the possibilities of tomorrow…

  2. This is an awesome poem Natasha and so fitting for today. 🙂 A simple concept that is carried heavily by so many that fight the inedible instead of flowing with it. The fear of change when often brighter doors open when change happens. A wonderful flow to your words. I enjoy this voice you have let resonate. 🙂 xx

  3. So many people resist change in their lives, fearing the unknown. Yet, as you have said in the following lines, change is an integral part of our daily lives that we never acknowledge.

    Change…is ever constant
Through the seasons, the turn of the wheel
    like Maritime weather

Everyone should embrace change because it is only through change that we can grow intellectually, that we can move forward rather than stagnating.

This line speaks to me: Letting go, letting god, letting you.

  4. Tash… beautiful piece. One of your best, I think, I so loved your opening lines:

Change…thrives and breathes on the wind
and like the fiery autumn leaf
    unknowingly let go
it seldom rests in one spot too long.

Perhaps, it’s the change in the air that’s made me dizzy. Nice job!

We would love to hear your thoughts :)
